Tips for Brides: Grand Entrance

Hello! Happy Tuesday!

I am starting an all new Tuesday blog series that will be tips for brides to get fabulous and unique wedding photos! I’m hoping these will be good reminders or that I may suggest ways to create opportunities for fabulous photos that you may not have thought of before!

This week I wanted to talk a little about having a “grand entrance.” Most people think of this as the DJ calling the bridal party’s names into the reception ballroom. My clients Katie and Luke helped me see it differently by enhancing their grand entrance.

Katie and Luke really thought out not just how fun they wanted their “grand exit,” (sparklers/car/waving goodbye/etc) but they also created a “grand entrance” for when they entered their wedding reception. What a lovely and amazing idea this was. Don’t get me wrong, I love grand exits (so very much!), but there is just something about bright, colorful, naturally lit photos that make my heart skip a beat.

In my opinion, any time you can create movement and positive interaction in pretty light will make for amazing wedding photos.

Besides, how many times in your life are you going to have people cheer when you enter a room? Live it up!:)

Below is Katie and Luke’s grand entrance photo when they entered Crane Cottage’s courtyard:

I hope this helps you think of a fun and fabulous added bonus for your wedding!

Sarah DeShaw
