Trying new things: High Tea at Jekyll Island Club Hotel

If you asked me what my favorite hobby is I would have to tell you it is trying new things.

Is that super vague? Here, let me explain…I am such a proponent of not “living in a box” (as I call it), or labeling yourself on your own “limitations” (or what you think they are). I don’t like the words always and never, or being labeled as a “type.” I believe people are ever changing and I beleive what makes life so interesting is all the discovery along the way.

I have found I am a much different person than I thought I would be, and I like it. I am enjoying being open minded about trying new things, challenging the norms, taking classes I never would have thought I would take, reading books that stretch me, and enjoying hearing peoples stories.

I recently had a belated birthday gift, which was so awesome! (I would stretch the celebration out all year if I could!) My good friend Cyle called me and told me she wanted to take me somewhere at a specific time and I agreed. She let me know the only catch was that I had to wear a hat. It was such a fun surprise to get to go to the Jekyll Island Club Hotel with Cyle for their High Tea.

There was any kind of tea you could imagine and lots of yummy treats. I have never done anything like this before and it made me feel all southern and stuff!

You better believe I tried one of every  food option. I mean, my hobby is trying new things, right?:)
I love this photo I grabbed of Cyle. It feels so timeless to me and I love that it is just an every day photo, although it looks like we could have styled it out. I love photos of every day life.Cyle was so sweet to grab a photo of me too!

So if you want to feel all southern and stuff, you should totally try high tea at the Jekyll Island Club hotel!
